Christmas 2007

Well, I did it, I started working on my Christmas cards for 2007. I do like to try and get them done early, but never have gotten to it this early. LOL

This is one card, the picture on the left is the card closed, or the flaps tucked in/under. The middle photo is the "normal" closed card viewing the outside. The photo on the right is the inside of the card viewing the right inside only.

Using non-traditional colors this year, lighter red and lighter green than normal, so might have to design something with blue, or even black and white, have to think on that one!

A set of cards...

When I design a card, I will make a few out of the same shape, will use different papers, or different embellishments, but in general they will be the same design, then I move on to a new design. I do keep a notebook of instructions on how I made them, as I am a PROUD member of the 'baby boomer' generation, and if I don't have it written down someplace, I won't remember! The first set was designed early this year, right after getting my Cricut, was trying for cards for men's birthdays, which I find harder to design for than say a child or any age female, there are SO MANY options then.

Anniversary Cards

Everyone needs to send an anniversary card, now and then, but I never could come up with a design, so I never had any on hand. My "baby" sister requested I come up with a few, and supply her too, this is what I came up with. It took over a week to come up with two designs I liked.

The one on the right was the first one, with a lot of embossing, vellum, sewing, and little ribbon and a flower for good measure. Used my computer for the inside 'forever' as who likes to play with a font that small? lol

The one on the above used the Cricut machine with some sewing, a few eyelets and a button, because the color was right! What I really like about this one was it was made all from scraps. If you do any kind of paper crafting, you will know how much "scrap" aka "leftovers" you have, so it is always nice to use up a little of that!

Patty's Craft Corner

Most of my cards and crafts will be made with the use of my Cricut and/or Cuttlebug machines, I am in love with both of them. Not much you can't do with one of them.

This card was made using up some of my ever growing scrap box. That is one thing I love about making cards, doesn't take much of any one kind of paper, but you can get a few kinds, and a few embellishments on EVERYTHING!
